9/8 GNO: Flower Crown Workshop

I had the absolute BEST time at this (sold out!) Girls Night Out event! One of my very favorite things in the world is to bring together a group of women and have fun trying something new! The prosecco was flowing, the smell of fresh cut flowers was in the air and there was laughter all around.

We kicked things off with some mingling and snacks featuring original recipes by St. Louis food blogger, Feed Me With Amanda. Next we brought in personal stylist Elizabeth of The Mom Look, who shared some styling tips on how to rock a flower crown for any occasion. Then it was time to get down to business - attendees selected their florals and we went through the steps of building the perfect crown.

Abby of Simply Gracious Photography was there to capture all of the fun. And, as a special treat we had a custom Snapchat filter made by Alicia of On Three Designs

It was truly an amazing night of some of St. Louis' finest ladies.

Among the Wildflowers: Boho Summer Session

As I drove out to the beautiful and wild Indian Camp Creek Park in Foristell, MO., for this evening shoot, I could feel the clouds getting darker around me, could see the rain coming down in sheets a few miles in the distance.

This did not seem like good news for our planned styled shoot.

Once we arrived and got everything set up, we began photographing and transitioning scenes like crazy, trying to beat out the impending storm. Fortunately, the weather passed right over us (!), and we were able to capture something pretty special.  The sky, while altogether terrifying, delivered some beautiful shades of grey-blues and purples that added a unique light to the scene.

Jessica of Sparrow & Gold Photography has a true talent for shooting in natural light, which really shows through in the featured photos below. Enjoy!

August Evening Romance: Plum, Gold & Fresh Herbs

I recently had the pleasure of meeting St. Louis fine art photographer Cami Wischmeyer of Cami Wade Photography. Her work is exquisite, and I knew right away that we had very similar styles and an easily aligned vision for this styled shoot collaboration.

The mid-summer evening was warm and hazy, but not overbearingly humid (a true rarity, I'm told for St. Louis in August), and the light stayed true to it's "golden hour" namesake, coming in at just absolute perfection.

With the help of some other wonderful St. Louis vendors, we were able to create an intimate dinner setting and capture some sweet, romantic moments between this husband and wife.
